Birthday-e-bash and more

The week started in a very uneventful manner. Until I logged into Facebook. The walls were flooded with ‘Birthday Wishes’ to our very sweet and popular blogger Swaram. Messages were pouring into Swaram’s profile ๐Ÿ™‚ and when Masood said ‘this is a social event’ we realised the event deserved enough coverage ๐Ÿ™‚ Then Uma suggested Swaram start an ‘event’. And before the birthday girl could think twice, I started the Event on her behalf ๐Ÿ™‚ with this note:

Guys/Girls,
I have butterflies in my stomach as I invite you to attend the glitzy (er, is that a word?) event of our very dear Swaram’s birthday party ๐Ÿ™‚ Do come and leave some words behind, esp if you can pull her leg or reveal some interesting secrets or anecdotes ๐Ÿ˜‰ Even otherwise, do come ๐Ÿ™‚
From:
All her friends from Blogworld
P.S: Feel free to gate-crash ๐Ÿ™‚

And guess what? Within an hour, we had 28 ‘confirmed guests’! Deeps, Vichu, Baisali, Pixie, Uma, PnA, Monu, Padma, Sagarika, Any Excuse to Write, Iya, Ashwini, Trishna, Nupur, Nancy, Rakesh, ChatterBox, Saritha, IHM, Rakesh, Indy, Supriya, Meira and Masood….

It was a rocking party.. Swaram’s birthday wishes and post on her blog spread a lot of excitement around. Guests started pouring in questions, and it was fun to see Swaram answering all of them.

First was a boring question from me: If you were stranded on an island, and had to choose ONE Man to accompany you, who would it be? Please refrain from mentioning names of spouse/parents/siblings/children ๐Ÿ™‚

Swaram’s answer: Rahul Dravid

Uma spiced up things a bit with her question: ‘Where would you like to go for your Second Honeymoon ? Why ?’
Swaram’s answer: ‘Mt Everest’
Meira’s response: ‘She said Honeymoon not Pilgrimage, Swathi’
The rest is censored, folks ๐Ÿ˜‰

Rakesh’s san-sani question: ‘Interview Question: Finally all the blogging and commenting paid off when you got the Most Responsive Blogger Award by public voting. How would you have felt if Hitch would’ve got the award instead? ๐Ÿ˜› Honest Answer Please!!!’
Swaram: ‘Vimmuuu won it he he he ;)’
Rakesh, however, was not one to take a beating. He persisted with ‘But swar, how did you feel when Vimmu won it and not you? Did you feel like counting all the comments that you’ve posted and showing statistics to the world, how you should’ve won?’
Swaram very diplomatically replied ‘Err he called me and wished me today .. so, no comments ;)’

Meira wanted to know ‘My question: Swaram, Who has presented you with the worst birthday
gift so far??? as it goes…HONEST answer. No diplomatic answers/no for an answer accepted’
The answer was rather anti-climax ๐Ÿ˜‰ ‘ribbons…school ribbons’.

Rakesh bombarded the event with one more question ‘What is the 1 thing that you really want, you’re really praying for, your husband to do for you today without you telling him to? And no, Don’t say – I’d like him to put the toilet seat up before… he he’

The birthday girl – true blooded Venetian – replied ‘That he does not watch Wimbledon or football today and devotes all his time to me ahem ;)’

IHM asked (intelligently, as always): ‘How does it feel, Swaram, to be born on the longest day on the year (21 June) – so you can have the longest birthday? :)’
Swaram: LOL … gives ppl more time to give me some birthday bumps ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

Pixie threw a tiny bombshell with ‘My question – Whose wishes did you NOT expect?!’
Swaram diplomatically said :’Time pass .. she is a blogger too ๐Ÿ™‚ Never thot she wud send such a personal mail @ that ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ย
That very much means I expected all ur wishes ๐Ÿ˜› :P’

Sumita: If you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be? ๐Ÿ˜€
Hmmmm … that I cn get my grandma bk ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›
I want a vacation to Venice soooooon
Another one .. ice-creams and cakes and chocolates go calorie-free ๐Ÿ˜›

Well Swaram, we all hope you get your second two wishes as soon as possible ๐Ÿ™‚

Deeps Perceptions: Ok heres’ an easy one for you, Swar.. whats the whackiest funniest crackiest joke you’ve ever heard which makes you laugh like crazy even today?? C’mon humour us now!
Swathi Ram Hee hee hee that I am good girl ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›
Deeps Perceptions- seriously,swar..u think thats the funniest joke you’ve heard?? c’mon think hard and give us some real laughs!
Deeps Perceptions- that I asked you to ‘think hard’ can still be considered funnier since you hardly think… bhagooooooo!

Monu: ok what is the weirdest bday wish or present

Now, FB did not allow me to see this answer ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Uma’s simple question ‘I’ve one more…Which birthdays were the best for you – the ones before marriage or after marriage ???? u have ever got?’
set a ball rolling in a very interesting direction ๐Ÿ˜‰

Miss Diplomacy replied: ‘After marriage and blogging .. bcoz with parents n family, I nw hv the husband and u guys too ๐Ÿ˜‰ ;)’

Unfortunately the rest of this thread cannot be posted in a public space ๐Ÿ˜‰

Meira got us all laughing with this post: ‘Since the birthday girl is busy, lets all share our hilarious moments with her….
I’l go first. She read my post on my parents’ anniversary and went ahead and wished her parents a ‘happy anniversary’ instead of a ‘happy journey’ :D’

Unfortunately, just when Swaram started opening up with spicy details of ‘Chins’ and ‘Muns’ Facebook had the audacity to Block her from writing on walls!!! This was her farewell post:ย ย ‘FB tells me that I am posting lots of comments and that too very fast…its asking me to enter test code to confirm identity… *rolling my eyes* …this is bad…FB can outcast me like this…

So well, the e-party had to end early!!

But yes, we had a GREAT time ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and now for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.

This is really funny and nice… yet to read it completely but I am sure I have missed a wonderful event ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

It was awesome, Kanagu, because Swaram has so many blog buddies and they all bombarded her with questions.. it was lovely!

It was indeed so much fun ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
I was busy during this fantastic event, so though I was reading and enjoying myself; I couldn’t ask the birthday girl any questions ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Not a worry, there is always a next time.
So who’s birthday is coming up next?? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜›

Absolutely, CB, always a next time ๐Ÿ™‚

oh it was so much fun… are u serious u didnt see the answer to my ques… it gave us most laugh

“that u have 21 kids by ur 21st birthday”

and the rest is ofcourse censored ๐Ÿ˜‰

God Mons! I ws so happy she dint c it and put it up here and u tell her abt it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh now I remember, I did, I did… the 21 kids and the calculation which led to the 0.5 kid in the picture… Swaram, you’re lucky I forgot earlier ๐Ÿ˜‰ otherwise….. ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ™„

She also didn’t answer questions about the 27 kisses Pals!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Congrats to Rakesh as well!! ๐Ÿ˜€
he was most persistent and Swaram was most diplomatic!!!

ROFL, Swaram, just what you wouldn’t want to see on a blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

U guys let it out in this public space that I wanna go to a stranded island with the Wall and sing Kaho Na pyaar Hai ala Amisha style ๐Ÿ˜›

LOL, but we have censored so much more!!!

*Khushi ke aansoo again*

Thanks to all of u for making my bday so special ๐Ÿ™‚

Pal, u r a sweetheart to put up such a nice post and make a badge too ๐Ÿ˜€

Congrats Rakesh *seeti maaring* ๐Ÿ˜‰

LOL, Drama Queen ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank u Swaram, we had a great party ๐Ÿ™‚

Thats so sweet Pal..I read some of the comments too…lucky she was to be there online to enter the e-party, normally on birthdays, offline friends just drop in and may not allow us to go online….:))

Yeah, Pushy. Everything just happened to click all at once and it was fun ๐Ÿ™‚

I missed it all ๐Ÿ˜ฆ You guys wound up the party before I had a chance to join in the fun!

This was such fun too read! Lovely idea to hold a virtual party ๐Ÿ™‚

Awww..too bad Smitha. There’s always another time ๐Ÿ™‚

Pal, u hd a page dedicated to books na? Gone?

Just hidden it, Swar, as that was for 2009. I have to write a couple of reviews for 2010 though. You remembered it? Wow!!

Yes Ma’am I do ๐Ÿ™‚ And thanks for the review. The books sounds really nice and interesting ๐Ÿ™‚

Great Swaram, hope you get to read it sometime, but it may be gloomy for a person like u ๐Ÿ™‚

This is AWESSOME !!!

How unlucky of me to have missed… !!! but then in an e-party you gals dont serve food do you ??? err… but nevertheless I missed out on so much fun !!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Yeah Hitchy, you should have been there, it would have been even better!! Oh, did I unwittingly give u a compliment? Backspace.. backspace…

Good job Pal…good job of compiling the whole event. Total fun it was, na ???

Congrats Rakesh !!! Keep it up…keep the questions coming….there might be more events in the future…. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks, Uma. Oh yeah, total fun because everyone participated so enthusiastically!! It was your idea after all, to have an ‘event’ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow, finally I got something right. And to think it was a question rather than an answer ๐Ÿ˜›

Remind me of the saying “An idiot can ask more questions than even the greatest genius can answer”.

And it is really sweet of you Pal. I’ve never got my name on anything before… is making me emotional… sniff..

And Congrats to you too for winning on that post in BPL. You really deserved it.

He he he, nice quote ๐Ÿ˜‰ Don’t get itna senti, though. This is just the beginning ๐Ÿ˜‰
And thank u too, for the bpl thing ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL that was some fun ๐Ÿ™‚ And Rakesh totally deserves that trophy!!

My question to Rakesh, “What do you think would you have done if you were not a blogger?”
Rakesh – “I would have been a gossip columnist.”

ROFL!! Classic ๐Ÿ˜‰

did i miss it .. did i miss it ohhh damnnnnn… must log on to my facebook more often it seems …

MAnny happy returns of the day swaram and a very happy happy birthday … God bless and many more events like thsi to come …

You did miss it Bikram ๐Ÿ˜‰ but then,we can always have another one soon ๐Ÿ˜€

It was a rocking party indeed!! I’m sure all of us had a blast pulling our b’day girl’s legs with those questions…it was as good as giving her b’day bumps ๐Ÿ˜€

Congratulations, Rakesh on the coveted honour :D.. but your questions were truly san-sani..how I thanked my stars it was not my b’day!! ๐Ÿ˜†

And Pals, this was a superbly organized party…thanks a ton for it ๐Ÿ™‚

@ Karate brat: No, I think u were doing a guest post somewhere else ๐Ÿ˜‰ we missed u !!

@ Deeps: I second u on that… thank God none of us were at the receiving end of Rakesh’s questions ๐Ÿ˜‰ And Deeps, u r such a dahling. There wasn’t much organizing to do though, set up an ‘event’ as per Uma’s idea and invited bloggers to gate-crash. And Swaram had generated enough publicity by then ๐Ÿ˜‰ and so did you and Monu ๐Ÿ™‚

Damn! I can’t believe i missed this ๐Ÿ˜€ it should’ve been fun! But nice idea you guys, to have done this for Swaram. One Bday she’ll definitely not forget, i guess ๐Ÿ˜‰
