Where is everyone?

Where is everyone?! Blogville has been awfully neglected the past few weeks..months.

One devil entered Wedlock and was away for some time, but has just come back with this beautiful song (his own voice, mind it)! I hope he is regular from now! 😀

Another, probably smitten by Rajamma, has decided to zimbly quit blogging. This is awful news.. and I hope he changes his mind.. er.. about blogging I mean. 😯

The Don posts very rarely.. like the Big Khans.. one release a this case, a month! I do miss her insightful posts. 🙄

One little comment monster disappeared sometime back, but has returned recently, with a rocking post titled ‘Qatar Calling’! Hope she stays on now.. no more disappearing act. 🙂

Big Brother (Read: Bhai) recently moved location, and is hardly on the Internet (hmph..not even Scrabble!) Be back soon, Hitchy! All the ladies are a-waiting! 😉

This techie guy says he has no time either.. and has invited guest bloggers..but well, he has cheekily tagged some of us 🙂 in his last post!

And this dreamer, a wonderful writer, has been away too, until just this week! Looking forward to some smashing hits from her now! 😀

Oh, and this Devil-ee too, who leaves loads of comments, but doesn’t post often enough 😦

YAY to the foll. bloggers, who have resumed blogging…

The very sweet Piper!

The already popular Mystic girl, who has resumed blogging..and has recently churned out some really nice stuff (as always!).

At the same time, Kudos to all of you lovely people, who have been blogging regularly and keeping Blogville alive…

Mon, Pix (the upcoming Fictionist 🙂 ), Deeps (who managed to keep our Scrabble board in ACTION, despite being away in Delhi!!), Smitha, Kanagu, Swaram (who is going to Shaan’s concert  ), Kanagu (who has been on a whirlwind trip to Hyd, and has had the pleasure of eating Swaram’s aloo parathas… yummmm), Uma , Supps (who has just tagged me, thereby giving me another excuse to blog 😉 )and ofcourse the inimitable IHM and Quirky!

Now, these are some blogs I’ve started reading recently.. and have found very interesting!

LR of Ginger Chai fame 🙂 who has just conducted the ‘Finish the story’ contest and is now kindly spreading the word on offering FREE BOOKS to bloggers!

Sanz – I am already a fan of her 55-ers!

And the very famous Krish Ashok.. I was bowled over by this particular post.

Happy Weekend people!

🙂 🙂 🙂

P.S: To those whom I’ve missed mentioning.. please throw some bricks at my site.. (er.. without damaging your screen, that is…) so I can add you onto the List.. this linking business takes a lot of time.. 😦 )

Incidents Thought and Reason

Indiblogger and me

I do like Indiblogger. Not because they have given me a good rank. My rank, infact falls, every month, and is down from 79 to 65!!

But I do like the fact that (a) they provide a decent platform for bloggers to share their work. And (b) the Blog of the Month contests.

Talking of which, my blog has been nominated this time (don’t ask by whom!! I helped myself 😉 ).

So, in case you haven’t already seen your favourite blogger listed there, or haven’t cast your vote for someone else already, please do vote for me.

Here is the link to VOTE.

And this is the title of my blog: ‘I am no writer’ by ‘Pal’

These are the links to the posts that I dare categorise as ‘poetry’….he he!

1- The Ghost (all you lovely folks have already been very receptive to this spooky post)

2- A walk in the rain (this one will make you go ‘awwwwww….’)

3- End of the road (this is my favourite)

4- I yearn (this isn’t mushy at all, go ahead and read it)

5- Holi hai (wait..there’s a twist here..its not about Holi after all!)

On another note, many of my blogger friends have been nominated too. Ozzy, Pushpy, Shail, Aaroo, Tikuli, Prats (to name a few) … so if you choose to vote for them, I won’t get back at you – at all 🙂

You can vote for upto 5 favourite blogs. So pliss to remember to vote for my blog, also titled ‘I am no Writer’ 🙂

OK then, so in case you haven’t done so already, please log into your Indiblogger account and vote!

Thought and Reason

Famous blogs

I open my blog and am THRILLED to see that sole comment on a story I’d written painstakingly (albeit hurriedly, in the couple of hours I could spare). Then I surf around other blog sites and related blogrolls. And scroll down to the “comments” section, only to realise there are about 50-60 comments, (sometimes, even a 100+ !). Then, I chanced upon Big B’s blog yesterday ( I must confess there was absolutely nothing fascinating in his posts – it was like a diary of what he did/when/where/etc. Can you guess how many comments “he” got per post ? 350+ to 500+ !!

So what makes a blog famous ?

– The blogger is a famous personality (for eg., Big B or any of the celebrity Khans, or a writer perhaps)

– The blog supports an important social cause (eg., Unchaahi)

– Interesting fiction, with an ethnic touch

– Exceptional self-deprecating humour (or humour on one’s lifestyle/race/culture/etc).

– Travelogue

– Negative publicity (there’s this guy/girl who writes crap about life in Chennai. I don’t want to name him only because he doesn’t deserve any more publicity than he already has).

– A good network of friends in Blogosphere.

– OR just exceptional writing skills !!

From all this, I finally realise – the blog must have a USP – a Unique Selling Proposition. Something to entice readers to visit the blog and identify with what you have to say.

Realisation is half the battle won. Hopefully, I’ll devote more time to my blog now.

Any tips, people – On the USP for my blog ?
